1. I found the Schweppes ad song!!! WOOOOO!! *Well, technically, my sister found it, but whatever. Woo!* It's absolutely amazing. Observe:

SO amazing. &hearts &hearts &hearts

2. The weather continues to be lame. I HATE summer. Grr. Count your blessings, snowy America! =)

3. GOSSIP GIRL. Ohhhh, this show. It reminds me of Desperate Housewives in a way, what with the omnipresent voice-over with a secret, the beautiful, beautiful people and like, just the way the plot is developed and blossomed over the episodes. Huh. But whatever, the real news is that the show continues to be amazing and awesome and angsty, as you will see:

Gossip Girl Goodness. <3 )
4. Brittany Murphy!! Ohh. The poor thing! I was woken up to Mum in my bedroom, saying "You know that Brittany Murphy? She's dead!" I totally didn't believe her at first. I was like "No way!" but then I read an article on the internet that confirmed it. So tragic. She had so much talent. R.I.P. =(

FACT: Glee is the best fucking show ever. Seriously. I got the chance over the weekend to catch up on the episodes I missed *except for Hairography - I saw Wheels and Ballad, but whatever* and THEY WERE AMAZING. I really think Wheels is my favourite episode now.

FACT: Artie is a sweetheart and I love him. I felt so so so sorry for him during the "Dancing With Myself" song bit, especially when he got right up next to Tina and you could just see how much he wanted to be with her, but there was always going to be that disabled/abled barrier between them and guh....my heart. And when Tina revealed that she didn't have a stutter? Ooooh, that bitch. Hurting Artie like that. I mean, I still like her character and all, but it was just a really dog thing to do. But OOH, LOL for Artie's "I wanna be clear. I still have use of my penis." line!!! He's so awkward, it's hilarious.

FACT: The fact that Kurt's love for his father surpasses his urge to do so well and be a star, so much that he's willing to sabotage his opportunities for the sake of his dad just makes me wanna jump into that TV screen and HUG THEM ALL. Holy shit, that was such a beautiful scene!! Kurt and his dad are awesome. I love them.

FACT: SUE IS THE GREATEST FUCKING PERSON ALIVE. I've loved her before Wheels, and even with all her arrogance, general belief that everyone sucks and insulting of everyone, to find out that she has a heart?? Dude. That scene with her sister, I totally did NOT see coming. But I'm so glad it did because it just puts another layer onto the beautiful character that is Sue. And I loved the "You don't know a thing about me." line, because, to be honest, Will is kind of annoying sometimes in his judgement of EVERYONE. And, the promo for the next episode, or the one after that, I'm not sure, looks TRAGIC. IN A BAD WAY. Will goes all emo on us, yes? Guh. Ew.

FACT: I wish someone would do a wheelchair dance for me! That skit was awesome.

FACT: I feel sorry for Puck, even though what Mercedes said about Finn being the father even though Puck's the "baby's daddy" was so true. And in terms of his romantic relationship with Quinn, I really feel for him there. I actually think he and Quinn would make a better couple, but I've yet to find out why... it just works for me, I dunno. =S

Now, onto Ballad....

FACT: While I was delighted at the amount of Will/Rachel in this episode, it still didn't feel....right to me. I mean, sure, it's clear Rachel has a crush on Mr. Schuester, but I think the way it was portrayed in Ballad was more of a high school infatuation, rather than what I think their relationship really is. Rachel depends on Will for so much - support, encouragement, praise - but she also needs him for other things, too, like someone to listen to her when she's being ridiculous or sad because Will's the only one who understands how much Glee means to her, and how passionate she is. So, that line of Rachel's where she says to Suzy Pepper, "Our love is one of the ages" or some shit, it doesn't feel right. It feels like she's just being childish and immature and trying to see something more in her and Will's relationship than what's already there. So, yeah, while their ballad together was AMAZING and Will's facial expressions made me crack up like whoa, I would've preferred it if the ep went in a more serious direction than it did. But whatever.

FACT: Again, Kurt brings the awesome. His crush on Finn is so cute!!

FACT: QUINN'S PARENTS ARE SHITS. DEADSET, I WANT TO STRANGLE THEM. I cannot believe they would be so heartless and so unforgiving that they would throw their poor daughter out of her house when she's in need like that!!! And her dad!! What a twat. I really hope he comes to his senses and realises that yes, Quinn made a mistake and yes, it's going to be a tough road for a while, but Quinn is still his daughter, and he should still care for her as he always has. GUHHH. And, holy fuck, when Quinn was sobbing to her mother, it made me wanna cry. And when she said "I needed you. I needed my mom.", oh god, it made me ache. I wanted to jump ito that TV screen and kick her parent's asses, and give her a big hug.

FACT: GLEE CLUB IS AWESOMESAUCE. Their "Lean On Me" bit was freaking fantastic!!! I think the support they give each other is awesome. I wish my school had Glee club!! =(

FACT: Channel Ten is repeating Lie To Me episodes. What the hell, man?? At first I thought they just showed the Pilot again because they were busy getting the new episode, but apparently not! Last episode was ep 2 of Season 1, and I bet next week's episode *or, I should say, THIS week's episode* will be an old one. LAME! Although, the upside is that Loker's hair is yummy in this season. Something's happened to it in Season 2....

FACT: I need to stop saying "fact".

The random however-long-it-was LiveJournal hiatus is now officially OVER!!!! Due to technology fuckery, I wasn't able to go on LJ for like, a zillion weeks. Bit it's okay. 'Cause I'm back now. =)

CATCH-UP SESH!!!

1. Firstly, the weather. It's been INSANE over here for the last few days, and it's only Spring! Melbourne and South Australia are all experiencing heat-waves at the moment, so I guess they just decided to get all their stupid hot weather and shove it up north in the direction of Sydney. First day of hot weather, I came home, looked at the temperature gague, and the mercury was at 39 DEGREES CELSIUS. OR, 102 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT. THAT'S A LOTTA DEGREES. And it sucked. Guh. There hasn't been a Spring this hot in South Australia for like, 115 years or something like that. *exasperated sigh*

2. GLEE!!! YOU GUYS!! SO GLORIOUS!! I must admit, I really loved Rachel and Noah's brief fling in episode....eight, was it? Or maybe it was seven. Whatever. One of them. I know I've said it before, but I'm really warming to Puck with each episode that goes by. His hair doesn't seem so hideous anymore. =P Thursday's episode was a repeat of episode 2, which I was partially sad about *because I was looking forward to some genuine plot progression, you know* and partially glad for *because I'd missed the second ep the first time around*.......but OMG YOU GUYS, the preview for episode 9, 'Wheels', looks AWESOME!!!! SO SO AWESOME!!! Apparently someone finds something out, and there was a snippet of a scene wherein Finn *that rhymes!* walks into a room and he's like "Oh my god.." or something. And, dudes, I am so hoping he finds about the whole Quinn/Terri thing they've got going on because, seriously, that's just ridiculous. Terri, go die. Grr.

Speaking of Quinn, she continues to be awesomesauce. As does Sue. Oh, Sue!!! She is just amazing. You don't get comedy like that very often anymore. =D

3. I've missed the past like, four episodes of TBBT!! Boohissboo. =(

4. My sister and I went out and rented Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Ghosts of Girlfriends Past last night. They were pretty good. We were both sitting there through Transformers like, "What part of the Transformer did they hit? Is it its face, or its ass??" for like, the entire movie, because it was all so hard to distinguish at times. Like in the massive fight sequence in Egypt? Dude. I've never seen so much CGI in one section of a movie before, ever. Actually, in ALL parts of the movie, come to that. Anyway, the DVD player stuffed up after about 3/4 of the movie, so we shut it off and went to watch Ever After that was showing on Ten. That was good, despite the slight monotony of Drew Barrymore's acting. We watched Ghosts of Girlfriends Past this morning, and even though from the minute I read the blurb I knew it was gonna be a spin on A Christmas Carol, I still enjoyed it. The dialogue was witty and funny, and there were pretty people in it, so I had few complaints. =D

5. My sister told me while watching Transformers that apparently women can't become jet fighter pilots, because "the uterus acts like a vacuum, and it's dangerous". What the frick?! Totally ruined my dreams, aye. ;)

6. My sister also told me last night that the blonde chick in Michael Buble's music video, Haven't Met You Yet, is actually his girlfriend. She read it somewhere in an interview he did for some magazine or other. Boohissboo!!!!!

7. I haven't had much time to catch up on all the goings-on with my current obsessions *Ralph Fiennes, ASH, Merlin, etc.* but after recently purchasing two of my favourite movies ever ever ever, Pride and Prejudice and Atonement, I think my Joe Wright obsession is back. Like, it's always been there, of course, but it's taken over me now. I spent the last three days watching those two movies with the director's commentary, over and over and over. I....I may have a problem. *shifty eyes* But dudes!! He's so wonderful!! And beautiful! And English! And talented!! And fucking hell, he has a nice voice. Like, deadset. &hearts &hearts

8. I missed iCarly AGAIN. Far out, man!! This can't continue. Argh.

9. Lie To Me continues to please, which is good, seeing as the first season was so blagh. And, I'll admit it - Tim Roth is really growing on me. Really really. =| But I think they've started to repeat episodes, as well, now. Grr!!

10. And finally, the most glorious display of Michael Jackson dancing ever:

Oh gosh, I love the Middle East. Hee.

Can you believe I haven't posted in over a WEEK?!?! Or that I haven't gone on the computer in over FIVE DAYS?!? I went on for the first time this morning, at 6:30am, and I had 38 new emails in my inbox. I never have 38 new emails in my inbox, unless I'm on a Merlin thread on a Sunday night. *Flail!posts get lotsa comments.* Anyway, so: PREPARE FOR THE EPIC POST OF EPIC-NESS. AND CATCH-UP.

1. I bought Pez yesterday. And a Yoda dispenser!!! Pictures are en route.

2. The Big Bang Theory!!!! Oh, it brings me so much happiness. So, so much. SHELDON!! OH, GOSH. THAT MAN. GUHHH. &hearts &hearts &hearts I haven't posted about the two episodes I saw *I think*, so, yes. Here. The first one, Howard is all depressed because Leslie broke up with him, so Raj and Leonard decide to take him to Vegas and then some prosto chats him up and he gets all happy again. You guys, HOWARD IS GETTING SEXIER WITH EVERY EPISODE. I....I know it's not just me that thinks this, and I'm kind of glad I'm not alone in this, because it's just so....unlike me to think someone like Howard is sexy? I dunno. I think it's Howard's pants that does it. Seriously. *shrug* Anyway, I loved the running gag of "friends with benefits" because Sheldon was just so hilarious with that. He was so cute when Penny said that he was going to have to stay at her apartment and sleep in her bed!! His face!!!!! Guuhhh, it was adorkable. Although, it got me thinking that maybe Sheldon sort of relished the idea of sleeping in Penny's bed? I dunno, something about the way he reacted to the idea, and his expressions. But maybe I'm just going into flaily-shippy-mode again. Which is very likely. Anyway, Sheldon's last line, when he exits Penny's apartment telling Leonard that he understands "friends with benefits" "much better now".....I DIED. So funny. Best line of the whole show: "What exactly does that expression mean, 'friends with benefits?' Does he provide her with health insurance?" HAHAHAHAHAHA. Oh, Sheldon. The second episode: Howard, again, brings the beautiful. His space toilet was fucking awesomesauce, by the way. Hee. When the meatloaf like, exploded from the toilet and ended up on Sheldon's ceiling? And Sheldon's face that was like "Oh my god. There's meatloaf on my celing."?? I DIED OF LAUGHTER. GUHHH. And, Sheldon's persistence that Leonard check his messages was awesome, too. Oooh, it all brings the lulz. &hearts &hearts Also, the Penny/Leonard was even more annoying in this episode than in previous ones. Like, Penny saying Leonard's name while making out with another guy? I mean, you know, I'm sure Leonard's very squee-y and all, but come on! It's just blah. Sheldon/Penny FTW!! =)

3. NCIS!!! DiNozzo/McGee!!!!!!!! Yeah, that's all I have to say. Their chemistry says the rest, baby. =D And I'm sensing very strong Gibbs/Ziva vibes, as well. Am I just delusional? The bit when Gibbs whispered something in her ear *which I'm DYING to know the specifics of, btw* and Ziva started crying, and then Gibbs kissed her head.....guhh, it was a very lovely scene. They're lovely. But still....Abby/Gibbs all the way, man. &hearts

4. I'm really getting into the second season of Lie To Me. The first one just didn't do it for me, I'm afraid. It all just sort of fell on uninterested ears, in my case, but this season's definitely a lot better. Cal and his daughter are adorable together. Just saying.

5. I MISSED THE LAST TWO EPISODES OF GLEE!!!!!! WHAT THE HELL, MAN?!?!?! HATE LIFE. Seriously, what the frig. I missed episode 5 because of some random reason, I don't know, and the episode two days ago I missed because I had to work. Gaaaahhh!!!! And I tried to watch episode 5 on ten.com.au, but my stupid computer shut down right in the middle of the Glee Glory. ROAR!! =(

6. Although, speaking of Glee, I found this random newspaper at the library that had Glee on the front cover and a massive article on the show!!!!! I flailed. Pictures en route.

7. I think I've gotten more tan. Like, more tan than usual. I walked a lot yesterday, and even though I put heaps of sunscreen on, my skin looks a lot more golden than it usually does. No surprise, though, seeing as it was fucking 30 DEGREES YESTERDAY. *Around 90 Fahrenheit* Thirty!!!!! And it's only Spring!! That's horrifying. I hate you, sun. Take your stupid UV rays and bugger off. Grr.

8. MEME TIME!!!! Oh, I've missed these things. Taken from [info]firthgal -

Strap yerselves in!!

1. I'll start with the minor news first. On Saturday I decided to relive my childhood and watch morning cartoons *which I totally missed, by the way* and they were glorious. Mainly due to the fact that I watched a new show called iCarly. I'd read about it fleetingly a few times on people's journals, but I didn't think anything of it until I saw it on Saturday. You guys! So funny! I mean, I know it's a children's show and all, but the humour's there. And Spencer, oh my gaaaawd. MARRY ME, JERRY TRAINOR!!! &hearts &hearts. I watched the seventh episode of season 1, the Halloween one, when Carly, Sam and Freddie think that apartment 13B is haunted so they do iCarly from there and get all freaked out. During the webcast I was laughing like crazy because they were being such idiots, but the real laughs came when Spencer tried to carve his gigantic punpkin with a chainsaw. Oh, that man!! I love him. He's absolutely hilarious. Although, the fandom does weird me out a little bit, mainly due to the amount of tweens participating and putting forth their weird ships and totally bagging out the more acceptable ones. Like, the whole incest thing? I'm not too squicky about it all, as I know others out there aren't either, but the amount of bashing going on about it is just stupid. *I am obvz talking about the Sparly, here.* If people wanna interpret shit as romantic feelings, then they can go ahead! *shakes head* Squicky lil' bastards.

Personally, I adore the dynamic between Sam and Freddie. Oooh, they're so cute!! =D And that guy with the big, hairy mole? I forgot his name. He craks me up soooo hard!! Oh, this show. I like it.

2. HEY HEY IT'S SATURDAY! OH MY FREAKING GOSH. This bit is mainly for the Aussie flisters out there, but I think everyone should read this because IT IS SO EPIC THAT IT TOOK ME AGES TO POST ABOUT IT. *flail* Okay. I trust all Australians watched the reunion of Hey Hey, It's Saturday! on Channel Nine on Wednesday, yes?? If you didn't then I shake my head at you. And, I also trust that All non-Aussies are wondering what the hell I'm on about? Cliff Notes version: Hey Hey, It's Saturday! is the best comedy program to ever grace the screens of Australian television for 27 years straight. It's got all the good characters; Daryl, Ossiz Ostritch, Plucka Duck, Molly Meldrum, and my personal favourite: RED. This, of course, means jack to non-Australians, but whatever. Basically, it's an epic, epic, epic show. AND THE REUNION WAS ON RECENTLY!! I missed the first half of it due to my mum dragging me off somewhere, but I got the last part! And I got to see Red Faces!!!! MY FAVOURITE SEGMENT, OH MY GOD!! Apart from Plucka Duck's bit, which is always entertaining. &hearts &hearts I so hope it's coming back for good because I remember how devastated I was when it got cancelled back in the 90's *and even though I was a kid, it was still horrifying* and I want it back!!! *huff* Aaah, Hey Hey....I adore you.

3. Remember how I said that Anthony Stewart Head and his wife were like, the cutest couple in existence, with Paul Bettany and Jennifer Connelly following close behind? Well, I do think that the Bettanys have a new competitor vying for their position, because, my friends, last night I was fortunate enough to witness the utter adorable of ROVE MCMANUS AND TASMA WALTON!!!!! Oh my gooooosh, they are ADORABLE!!!! For those who don't know, Rove recently married *well, is it recent? I don't know the time frame, but I don't think it's been too long....whatever.* Tasma Walton, a lovely Australian woman whom he had as a guest on his show last night. And everyone was all "Oooh, Rove, got the missus on the show tonight, aye?" but it went fine. They honestly could not stop giggling and grinning for the ENTIRE show. It was so so so delightful!!! And fucking hilarious, too.

FOOTAGE!!

The beginning when they act all shy as Tasma's coming down the 'runway' was too cute. Aw!!

0:57 seconds!! They're looking at each other all cute-like. Aw!

And I had to add this one, just because it's absolutely HILARIOUS:

I'm pretty proud to announce that they take second place. Sorry, Paul. I still love you!!! =D

4. GLEE!! I missed the second episode but I managed to catch the third, and it was pretty good. It's taking me a while to warm to it *you know, new show, new ships, etc etc* but it's getting there. I did enjoy the Acafellas, actually. Will is still a sex bomb, as always, although for some reason I'm just not getting the Emma/Will vibe I got before. Hmm.. I don't know if they'd be such a good match after all. Mercedes and that gay one....I forgot his name....*Chris?* whatever, those two are so cute! They remain my #1 ship for now. =) Oh, gosh, Quinn! I love her so! Even though she's a big slag, and a bitch, she's still hilarious. Her and that freaky deeky coach, they're hilarious, too. Also: can someone tell me what's the deal with Terri, Will's wife? Is she not pregnant or something??

5. On a slightly sadder note, however, the Parramatta Eels lost the grand final yesterday to the Melbourne Storm, 23 - 16. WHAT THE HELL, GUYS?! You disappoint me. Which is weird, because I normally don't give two shits about sport, least of all NRL. And golf.

6. And, finally, inevitably:

Kay. I gotta go now before I explode. =)

To all Aussies on my flist, in particular Sydneysiders, I have one thing to say. DID WE ALL FUCKING DIE IN THE DUST TODAY OR WHAAAAAT?! I so did. I think I inhaled about a ton of it, which isn't very good. For those who haven't heard, or are in other countries, Sydney *and ONLY Sydney* was blanketed by a thick layer of orange dust today. Pictures!

A surfer heads for the water as a dust storm blankets Bondi Beach in Sydney, September 23, 2009.
Some douche-a-lot tries to go surfing in the dust. Go home, buddy! *Also, check out the sun! It looks like the moon.*

The Harbour Bridge, completely shrouded in red.

It was a lot more dense in the city than in the west, though. *Some people were describing it like an alien invasion, or the Armageddon. Me? I texted everyone I knew and said "SYDNEY'S GONE RANGA!!" =P* Even so, it was still really reddy/orangey where I was. And when I turned out my bedroom light, the light coming through my window cast an orange glow all over my room. It was pretty cool.

What was less cool, though, was how I inhaled about a ton of the stupid stuff when at school today. For reals, it was worse than when I cleaned my room and inhaled dust from that. Although, Bunny, if you're reading, you'll be happy to hear I did actually clean my room! I can walk around and stuff now. And sit at my table! Woot.

----------

In flaily news, I FINALLY GOT AROUND TO WATCHING THE CONSTANT GARDENER ON THE WEEKEND!! You guuuuys, it was so so so good. And Ralph Fiennes looked delicious, as usual. But what was weird, was that yesterday I was walking around Pennant Hills, and I walked into a random Vinnies that I found and guess what I found?! The Constant Gardener novel by John le Carre!! I was pretty spooked out, seeing as I'd watched the film only recently, and BAM, I randomly find the novel for two dollars in Vinnies yesterday. But, I bought it, of course, and it's really good so far. *flaily dance* Anyways, impromptu picspam time!! *Spoilers*

Secondly, GLEE COMES TO TEN ON THE 17TH SEPTEMBER!!!! WOOOOOT! The lovely promo ad came on yesterday and I hastened to write it on my calendar. So, yay. =)

----------

So, I was having dinner last night, content with my chicken pie *BEST SHIT EVER, DUDES. EAT IT. NOW.* when I happened on the Saturday movie that Channel Nine was hosting. I didn't know what it was, though, so since I had nothing else to do, I thought I'd watch it for a bit, and then wait for an ad to come on and announce the title of the film. It ended up being Maid in Manhattan, some weird romcom from the early 2000s. It took me about half an hour to realise it was Ralph Fiennes as one of the stars of the film, and when I did eventually realise who it was, my mind was like "What the shit??" because I would never have guessed him to be a leading man in a romcom. Seriously. Without a lovely British accent and a period costume, he just looks....strange. Ralph Fiennes is supposed to be charming and dignified and all sexy-like, and he WAS, but it was just queer to see him in something other than a serious period drama. And with J.Lo! Bit of an odd match, but I guess it worked. And, even though this movie was pretty mediocre in terms of plot and such, Fiennes made it all better. I guess it's a mark of his superb acting talent that he can do a romcom like this, still manage to be so goddamn charming, and then go off, morph into Lord Voldemort, and be a fucking nutcase. Guhh, I loves him. XD Sea of hearts! &hearts &hearts &hearts &hearts &hearts &hearts..... I'm sensing some similarities between this and my giant crushes on Anthony Stewart Head and Damian Lewis, so expect some crazy assed picspams soon, bbs. I bloody hope it doesn't come to that, though, because gosh knows I've got too many obsessions. =)

I'm also really cut that I missed Sunday's flailpost!! =( *[info]merlinaustralia people will know what I'm talking about.* I didn't check the comm until like, yesterday, and when I saw that there was a flailpost to discuss all things Merlin, I was very very sad. *sigh*

Oh well. Easy Mac!! Be jealous. =D

EDIT: I just used the LJ locator thang, and oh my gosh, it located me all right. Even the suburb and everything!! Spooky.

About a minute ago my sister yelled from the lounge room, "HEY DUDE!! DID YOU KNOW THAT GRIMACE IS ACTUALLY A LARGE PURPLE TASTEBUD?!?" *Grimace being the McDonalds character* And I simply sat there and said a very appropriate, "What?? I thought he was a nugget!" Because he totally is a freaking chicken nugget...that has been dipped in purple shit. And to see if my sister was in fact right, I went to the ever reliable Wikipedia and checked it out. Click here if you don't believe me.

Ironically, I actually had chicken nuggets today. With tomato sauce. 'Twas good. =D

My sister rang earlier today and asked what I was doing, and when I replied that I was watching Mulan *shut up, okay? It's a classic.* she, of course, sped home to watch it with me. Man, I haven't seen that movie in ages! Eddie Murphy, ILU. =D And I had absolutely no idea that my beloved B.D Wong *whom I adore on SVU* voiced the character of Shang - nor that he is openly gay. What the hell, man?! How did I not know this before?? Guh, life chooses the bitchiest times to dump a load of information on me, hey.

BUT OMG OMG OMG BBS, CHECK THIS SHIT OUT:

*SQUEE* *FLAIL* *DIES*

I AM SO SO SO EXCITED. I found out about the movie a few days ago and, after learning that Johnny Depp was going to be in it, I watched the trailer and HOLY CRAP IT LOOKS AWESOME!!! XDXDXD

I hadn't, however, actually read Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. It sounds weird, I know, because it's a classic and it sounds right up my alley, given that it's completely insane, but I guess my parents never introduced me to it in my youth. I'd heard about it, of course, but I'd never read it until Thursday afternoon when, inspired by the trailer, I decided to see what all the fuss was about.

I'd just like to say, for the record, that that book is fucking nuts. Totally. It's genius, of course, and really entertaining, but utterly bizarre all the same. And oh my gosh, I never ever knew that Through the Looking Glass was the sequel!! Shows how lame I am, I spose. I also started to watch the Disney 1951 film adaptation of the book, but I abandoned it after like, 5 minutes because I really don't like watching movies on Youtube. I much prefer the sounds and actions to actually sync up, thankyou very much. *I dunno, every time I watch a movie on Youtube the sounds and actions go out of sync and it really pisses me off. So yeah. I'll buy it on VHS or something. =)*

Anyways, in terms of the movie, I think it's going to be brilliant. I mean, anything with Johnny Depp in it is brilliant, really. He's going to be soooo good for the role of the Mad Hatter!! Aaaah, I'm so excited. And, ho-shit, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bohnam Carter and Matt Lucas are in it, too!!! Aaaaaghh!!! *flail* 2010, hurry your ass up.

Speaking of Johnny Depp, I think I'm seeing Public Enemies tomorrow. The reason I say 'I think' is because the people I'm going to the movies with all want to see it except for one stubborn guy who'll probably be all "Blaaargh, noo, let's see the Hangover! None of this Depp shit." to which I will reply with some sort of 'your face' joke, I'm sure. =D But we're seeing Coraline tomorrow as well, which I'm super duper excited about also. Wooo!!!

EDIT: I'm also reading Russell Brand's book, currently. It's really really good! He's a very articulate man. =)

Okay, so, I was watching Oprah today *what of it, foo?* and they had this special episode thingy on rudeness and being civil, and they had this one bit about waiters and waitresses, and how uncivil customers can be to them, and by the end of it I was literally going "What?!?!" at my TV because, seriously, what some of these waiters/tresses were saying was outrageous.

Now, I know that in the USA *and, my American buddies can help me out here, yes?* people like to tip a lot. Apparently it's like, a 20% minimum tip or something? Now, here in Australia, we rarely tip. And by rarely, I mean thats just a euphemism for like, never. Cause, really, unless the waiter is hot, or they gave us really really good service, or we feel particularly generous that day, we just don't tip. And I'm pretty sure that goes for the majority of the Aussie population. However, in America *again, help me out here, flist* it's like, frowned upon if you don't tip. People think you're weird or something. In Oz, we don't do that, and maybe that's a bad thing, but you know what? This could all be resolved by one simple change to the American food industry:

PAY YOUR FUCKING EMPLOYEES BETTER, FOR CHRIST'S SAKES!!!

I swear to you all, on Oprah, some waitress said that in New York waiters/tresses get paid FOUR DOLLARS AN HOUR. FOUR BLOODY BUCKS. WHAT THE HELL, MAN. YOU CAN'T EVEN LIVE ON THAT!! And then she went on to say that the waiters/tresses have to also pay for the busboys and sometimes the host/ess or the 'food runner' *I don't even know what the hell that is, man* and I was just sitting there like "Holy crap, that's ridiculous!" Because it totally is. But then they went on to say that tips actually make up about 80-90 % of their wages, which explains why everyone in America simply must tip. Which also explains why here in Australia we rarely tip, since we actually pay our people more than a few dollars an hour. Seriously, you don't even get that kind of pay at Maccas, and that's like the bottom of the food chain. And we're talking 14 year old kids. And what's more, these waiters/tresses getting this low, low pay were like, in their 30s, 40s, even. You'd think that they'd get more than a few dollars an hour if they were older? Because that's what happens here. The earliest you can work *taking McDonalds for example* is 14 years old, and even then you get about $5 an hour. As you get older, the pay increases. So yeah, I'm just really shocked and "WTF?" about all of this.

Maybe my largely American flist can shed some light on this subject, hmm?

EDIT: By the way, my icon is of the lovely Tim/Daisy from Spaced being all cute and adorable on the footpath. Ach, I just wanna hug them!!

I am officially addicted to Skins. I'd only seen a bit of the third season before, and I liked it, but my friend said that the original cast is so much better than this new one, so she lent me the first two seasons on Saturday, and I've been practically glued to the couch for two days straight. I finished the first season in a day and, holy shit, IT IS SO GOOD!! SO DAMN GOOD!! Much better than I expected, actually. And it's got that kid, the one from About a Boy! Nicholas something. All grown up.

Cassie's my favourite. *She's got cool style.* I'm really digging Cassie/Sid, although a weird part of me hoped that he'd get together with Michelle for a little while. It's totally fucked up because, even though I don't really like Michelle/Tony that much, *it's like Barbie and Ken, seriously* I would much rather they stay together than for Sid to end up with Michelle and for Tony to go off with that weird skank, Abigail. ("Bring your frands, yaah?" What's up with that?!) So yeah. Cassie/Sid are the cutest. I also love Chris, he's my second favourite character, mainly because he's such a nut, but he's also got so many layers; it's just beautiful. It took me a while to warm up to Chris/Angie, but after a few episodes I was really into it. Although Angie kinda pisses me off sometimes. And what the fuck was up with her random Australian fiance in the finale? For one, he was such a crappy representation of Australian guys, I nearly couldn't watch it. For two....he's a dick. So, blargh. But I did love the Chris/Jal vibe in Chris's episode. They're lovely. =D

And, oh my gosh, MAXXIE! AND ANWAR!! YAAY!! They are just the epitome of adorable, seriously. Their episode, when they went to Russia, that was cute. And in Season 2, *I think it was the first episode?* when Maxxie wouldn't go to Anwar's birthday party unless he told his folks that he was gay, and they had that lovely phone conversation out in the cold, and then they finally found each other and there was that cute scene when Anwar's dad discovered he was gay and awwwh!! I love them. But, strangely, not in a slashy kinda way. It's purely their buddy, brotherly sort of relationship that I'm drawn to, and I'm totally not rooting for them to get together like I usually would be with these kinds of ships. Hmm.

I've only seen like, two episodes of the second season, and I must say I really feel sorry for Tony. And Michelle. Like, Tony was a dick in the first season *except in the Effy episode where we saw his love for his sister* and his behaviour really pissed me off, but I was still so shocked and upset when he got hit by that bus or whatever it was. My mouth dropped to the floor, seriously. *sadpants* And now he's got all these brain problems and everything!! =( And his love for Sid is really cute, too. I don't neccessarily ship them in a slashy way, but I like their friendship, regardless of how ridiculous it was in the first season. And, speaking of Sid, CASSIE/SID YAAY!! That tape she sent him from Scotland was well cute. Aw. =D And, can someone explain to me WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH SKETCH?! DUDES. SHE STALKS MAXXIE. I WAS LIKE "SHE IS SO FUCKED!" FOR THE WHOLE EP, NO JOKE. Poor Maxxie! And poor Anwar, for that matter. Guh.

So, yeah. Skins. I love it. &hearts

-----------------

In other news, Harry Potter comes out in two days!! *flail* *party* I'm extremely excited. More excited than I have been for any other one, actually, probably due to the fact that this one doesn't look like total shit. Not that the other one's looked like shit! It's just.....what was up with Order of the Phoenix? That was rubbish. But hopefully this 6th one will deliver. *crosses fingers*

-----------------

I feel totally fat after eating like, five pieces of blueberry danish last night. I had my third piece and I was all "Okay, this is the last one!" but, typically, I went and had another one. And another before bed. What the hell, man. If it weren't for my fast metabolism, I'd be pretty fat right about now.

EDIT: I'm craving Belgian eclairs, now. And Subway. I'm actually this close ( | | ) to walking up to my local shops and getting a Subway. Ach, damn you, stomach! Making me walk. :|

Michael Jackson. Dead.

......DEAD.

HE'S NOT SUPPOSED TO DIE!!! HE'S SUPPOSED TO LIVE! FOREVER!! I just....it hasn't really sunk in yet. It was about 7am today, 26th June when I heard over here in Australia *apparently it was earlier, around afternoon on the 25th for you guys in the US??* and I was getting ready, and then I walk into the living room and the lovely Richard Wilkins is on the Today show is sitting there with this sombre face and I'm like "Oh, shit, something's happened to make his face look like that." and then he went on to say that Michael Jackson had gone into severe cardiac arrest and had been taken to hospital.

It still hasn't hit me completely. I still half-expect a breaking news bulletin to come on the television and announce that it was all some misunderstading and that he's alright.... but it just doesn't come. *is sadpants*

Oh, Michael!!! And before his bloody tour, too! I think that's the worst part of it. The man hasn't performed in I don't know how many years, and then he finally gets to tour and have a little fun, a comeback, and then BAM!! Cardiac arrest. Hospitals. Death. Oh, Michael Michael Michael.....=(

All day on the radio on the way home I kept hearing tributes to him, and everyone played his songs and clips of him in interviews and things, and then it sort of occurred to me that this might just be a wonderful way to remember the man he was - the King of Pop. And it's sort of ironic to think that just last night, I was at my sister's Halfway Medical Dinner, and everyone was on the dancefloor grooving to "Thriller" and having such a laugh, and then the very next day he's pronounced dead in Los Angeles. It's just so strange and ridiculous and completely unbelievable....=(

Farewell, Michael Jackson. You were amazing, an integral part of so many chilhoods, and an idol to so many. Heck, you were even a nutter at times - but you were bloody brilliant.
R.I.P Michael Jackson (1958 - 2009)

Just discovered this very interesting picture from the set of Merlin. Spolier for Season 2 ahead, BTW!!

..........SHE IS IN A FLOWY DRESS. A BLUE, SILKY, FLOWY DRESS. AND IT LOOKS GOOD ON HER. REALLY GOOD.

I am confused. Isn't this Morgana's dress?? Morgana's apology dress, her oi-take-a-squiz-at-my-cleavage dress?? IS SHE REPLACING MORGANA?? If this is the case, then HOOOOOOOLY SHIT. The plot bunnies are going mad!! Maybe Morgana finally left Camelot and Uther was all "Noo! My love!" and then Gwen was all "It's okay, Sire. I loved her too." or some shit, and then eventually her and Arthur fell in love and she became Queen after Uther died *GASP* and so she gets Morgana's pretty dress that she so conveniently left behind!!! OR MAYBE I'M WRONG!! MAYBE SHE IS UTHER'S LOVE NOW!! Maybe after Morgana left Uther took comfort in the fact that there's at least one person left in the kingdom who loves Morgana as much as he does, and so he's all "Wah wah wah. Morgana Morgana Morgana. Wah Wah GWEN!!" and then they found love through their love for Morgana *in some sick, weird way* and now she is Queen!!

Or maybe I'm just retarded and there's a perfectly logical explanation to this photo. DISCUSS.
